So today we had a bbq here at FB and yours truly DJ'd along with Baby-D, so we are bumping the jams while people are eating burgers and hot dogs and this wack dude in line starts complaining that the song i was playing is to long and too repetitive. I was playing swagger like us, which is pretty much gonna be the biggest hip hop record to come out this year, It has Kanye, Jay-Z, Lil' Wayne and T.I...which is just amazing in itself. The thing that was more amazing to me was the complaining people were doing. Whether it was the music or not having enough variety in condiments for their burgers. I was getting really frustrated with these little brats attitudes and ungratefulness. We didn't have to do this for them. We didn't have to haull down our macs and speakers and connect everything up so they could complain..Anyways holla if you hear me. other than that it was a great day..k..bouncing out..

Instant Replay in Baseball?
Instant replay in football became popular not too long ago. First in the NFL where coaches are allowed to now challenge plays twice a game before the 2 minute mark at the end of each half. The coach is rewarded another challenge if he gets both right, but for each one that he gets wrong the team is penalized with a timeout. Then it was passed down to the NFL's free minor league which we know as college football. Replay rules depend on the conference and referees of the game. Then next sport that I caught using a sort of replay was tennis where the player can call an electronic simulation of where the ball landed on the court. Earlier this year though someone hit the ball as they called for the replay and they were not awarded the replay due to continuation of play from the player. Now were late in the 2008 baseball season and we see it again. The first use of instant replay in Major League Baseball. It took place in a game where the Tampa Bay Devil Rays hosted the New York Yankees. Alex Rodriguez hit what looked like a home run to let field. The ball sails high in the lights and hits the net like part of the foul pole. The umpires of the game talk about it and review and make the right call and Rodriguez is awarded the home run. A lot of people are talking that the replay is taking away from the game. So many games in the past have been affected by a bad call from an umpire. Whats to happen to all of those games? Why have umpires all together now? What will the extent of detail of the replay be? Will it be used for every strike called a ball and vice versa? Is a win really a win if the wrong call was made? I believe that it isnt a bad idea. It can help the game in many ways. It has done wonders for the NFL and tennis. Although it can elongate already long baseball games, I much rather have a game called fairly then not any day of the week. I know that Rodriguez likes the idea after earlier this year Rodriguez was robbed of a home run because of a bad call from an umpire. The ball bounced back into the field after hitting the foul pole and the top of the wall. Instant replay will definitely will make a difference and will better the game. No more bad calls and contreversy.

Comment Response on the Future of Hip Hop
3K: What do you think is the future of West Coast Hip Hop? is Game killin it? (like destroying it) or did he lay a foundation for the rebirth? Does the West need someone else to build on what Game is tryin to do and that's tryin to put the West back on the map? Does the South now have a death grip on hip hop? Get at me gangstas
holdin it down from California to Ohio
A R...
Ahhh..good question young sir, I do not think Game is bad for the west coast but, this is supposedly his last album and I think the impact that he is making in hip hop has already been felt and is pretty much finished. I think that Westcoast hip hop will continue to suffer until the West Coast steps up its game and stops putting out all the same crap. That is why people like Glasses Malone and Spider Loc aren't catching on, cuz niggas from the 90's have been doing the same thing and doing it better. I think the future of westcoast hip hop lies in people like Blu if he can get decent promotion. (he has one of the best hip hop albums i heard) and Bishop Lamont. As far as the south having a death grip(not sure if you mean in a bad way, like they are killing it) but i think that music from all places has been sucking and it isn't the south's fault. Its all the fans who buy this crap up, but i do have love for southern artist, like weezy, T.I., outkast, and my current favorite is Killer Mike. His new album is incredible, you should get it. anyways i hope this answers your questions, keep em coming if you got more

The Future of Hip Hop
So Hip-Hop as of late has been sucking tremendously, like Karrine Stephans, lol. Anyways i had almost lost hope in it until i recently was introduced to the future of hip hop. Now, its not just one person that will save hip hop from the slump it is in but i think that a trinity of incredible artist definitely could do it. With that being said i am proud to introduce the future of hip hop, thank me later!

My Late Night Shift

So the other night im chilling, working the usual 12-8am shift here at my place of employment, and the usual drunken kids come stumbling in around 1 or so and keep coming til usually 3 though i have seen them show up at 5 or 6. Anyways that is besides the point, the point is this girl comes in with her friends and she is talking to me and tells me that she loves me and that she wishes me the greatest night of sleep and that i dream of horsies, donkeys, sea horses and monkeys. Which had me bursting out in laughter. Then the next day she comes in with her friend, whose name i can't recall, but her friend introduces herself to me and we are chatting it up, when the same drunk girl from the night before, who i think was fuming with jealousy that i her friend introduced herself to me yells, "MY NAME IS SHAQUIDA!!". I was rolling..like this girl is at white as the driven snow and yelled that her name was shaquida. So i told her she was drunk and needed to go up to her room..man this job is definitely interesting.. peace

The Recession

Jeezy's Back!!..I'm not going to lie, i'm a huge fan of jeezy, he is not a lyrical beast, or a great song writer, but the man has the best ad libs in the game and his charisma and swagger fly through the roof. With that being said i will try to be as impartial in my review of his new cd "The Recession".
I would do a track by track but anyone who listens to Jeezy should know what to expect, so what i am going to do is just list off the three best and worst tracks from the cd.
Best
1.Vacation- This by far has to be my favorite track of the cd, the beat is ill..and the song just bumps, classic Jeezy
2.My President feat. Nas- My president is black, my lambo's blue and ill be g-damned if y rims aren't too" is the juxaposition that jeezy is speaking of on this track. Most of his songs have to do with materialism but he mixes that with a political message which anyone can respect. Nas kills it on his verse
3.Crazy World- Another political sounding song, he speaks heavily on the recession that is occuring in the country and how it is affecting the working class people and he even talks about how it effects him. He speaks some crazy lines like "thats really unheard of when you get more time for selling dope than murder"
Worst
1.Who Dat- Nothing necessarily wrong with the song, just dont car for it
2.Don't You Know- The beat is kinda bland and doesnt inspire me like Jeezy's music is supposed to
3.Takin it there feat. trey songz- the mandatory chick song on every commercial cd, dont care for it
overall i love the cd, not as good production wise as his last two outings, but lyrically he stepped up a little, and i am digging the social commentary. XXXX out of XXXXX

Q's Downtown Santa Barbara
As a community assistant I am responsible for putting on events for the residents so they feel like home and have fun. Last year we went to a place called Q's Billairds. Its a small 3 story club in downtown Santa Barbara. Its 18 and over only on wednesday nights. So thats the day that we'll have to book it for all the residents. My boss keeps asking me when are we going to Q's since she loved it last year and I made her go on the dance floor. I decided to roll down there tonight and talk to the manager or owner to see what kind of group discount rate we can get since we got like 300 students and like 295 of them are 18. I walked up and asked the bouncer what was the discount rate or how do I go about talking to management about it. He responded in a sarcastic voice that there is no such thing as discount rate. I told him that last year we did and it went really well for both parties. He just then stated that I have to talk to the owner during the day time. Why couldn't he tell me that in the beginning when I asked? I understand that its a club and bouncers have to be serious but customer service is customer service. The club scene in Santa Barbara is not even that serious. No body gets patted down. No purses or bags get checked. ID's are not ran under a black light. The biggest bouncers stay outside and watch the door. All the bouncers inside blend in with the crowd and if there were a fight all 25 of them would have to jump in to bring people out. If there was a big enough group those bouncers would get rocked too. But because Q's has the bigger dance floor and more bars than any other 18 and over spot, Im still gonna have to give them props for having best of worst 18 and over clubs in Santa Barbara. With the third floor being 21 and over and about 8 billaird tables, second floor a VIP section and another bar, and the first floor with the biggest bar in the building and DJ playing music that is under par for the dance floor Q's claims reign for the 18 and over bars/clubs in downtown Santa Barbara. Ill have to find out how to get to that owner to see whats up with the rates.

Roadblock or True contender?

This Saturday will answer the question whether or not Chuck Liddell is still a Formidable opponent. A lot of critics believe that he is a fighter of the past and that his time on the throne at UFC is long gone. Rashad "Sugar" Evans will face liddell this saturday in UFC 88 "Breakthrough." Evans comes into this card with an undefeated record of 10-0-1 while Liddell faces him with a much larger resume of 21-5-0 to say that the ICE MAN is just a road block to Evans victory is very controversial seeing that he is still a newer fighter but people say what you want it is your right. I on the other hand am going that Chuck is still a true contender in the world of Mix Martial Arts and will prove it on saturday. I must say that the fight will be a grueling competition between two TITANS and that no one fan will leave without a sense of how the gladiators of late Rome once engaged in glorious battle to maintain there livelihood. Before I go I have to give it up to "THE PIT" and John Hackleman for I am "Ohana" (thepit.tv). His great facilities in Arroyo are amazing and the trainings even better. Hawaiian Kempo for life. If your a fan or not make sure you tune into the payperview event, I promise you will enjoy

LAX flies to mete-ocher land

Games New Album LAX in its first week sold a total 238,000 copies. Compared to LIL waynes opening with over a million and Kanye coming in at a close second with 970,00 LAX can be categorized as under the shadow of these two behemoths. With that, I feel that the numbers do not give justice to some of the tracks. Songs such as "Dope Boys" and "My life" are truly songs that stick out and will soon be bumping on everyones stereos. Check out the album and see what you think overall. It is relatively good.

Exploding Bathrooms
So im sitting here at the front desk watching Entourage which is an amazing show by the way, i recommend that everyone watches it everyday of there life. Anyways these two girls roll up in their pajamas talking about how their toilet is exploding and shooting water everywhere. I didn't think it was that bad because of how calmly they stated those facts, so Me and Baby-D roll over to the room and water is shooting everywhere, it was really making it rain in a way Pacman Jones could never do without being jailed for a very long time. Anyways Baby-D hops into action and saved the day and rescued the girls from the Niagra Falls popping off in their room. When he came out it looked like he just finished a wet t-shirt contest in Cancun. What a night..now back to Entourage

THE One
Although it has been said that our losses are equal these fools below me are misunderstood. By Devine Right I have been bestowed with the ability to destroy any opponent. "KKK" I will lynch you with my amazing skills, and Neezy they will have to humainly Euthanize you after I demasculate(my word) you once again on the playing field. To our readers that were under the impression that I lost to KKK, understand that the game was obviously thrown by the refs. What happened to the days when the integrity of the game was of greatest importance? With that I leave everyone with this. "I am impersonated, never duplicated, wohh you. I will Always be 'THE ONE!'"

Rock, Paper, Scissors
So we got a situation here. Madden 09 is in our life. So Ill be the first to admit, Baby-D molly wopped on me. I got destroyed. So he got a little big headed and Kinda Kool Kid had to humble him down and Fleece Johnson him a little bit. Then I decided to play Kinda Kool Kid and despite him rewinding an interception ran back for a touchdown, aka pik six, then running the same play and scoring a touchdown on me, still got the W. So now all 3 of us have a 1-1 record. I lost to Baby-D, who lost to Kinda Kool Kid, who lost to NeeZy. Rock, Paper, Scissors. The battle continues. Soon the reigning champ will rise.

50 Cent trying to squash beef
So for anyone who follows hip hop news has probably realized that 50 cent's reign on the top doesnt really exist anymore. Though his reign financially isn't over, him being the highest selling artist in the current state of hip hop is, Terminate on Sight sold about 180 thou since it has been out, can you say FLOP! so now he is scrambling to patch things up with the people he has alienated on his rise to the top. First it was DJ Green Lantern, then it was Lil Kim and now Jadakiss. While i am a big fan of Jadakiss' body of work, i don't see this whole thing with 50 being a good look for him. but i could just be a hater. I think he is going to try to make nice with Fat Joe next....Anyways im out for brunch

Genesis
So I guess this is the first official blog entry for this blog. I have blogged a few times before on Myspace and i even had another blog that i started but it never got much attention so i had abandoned the idea of blogging fot a little while. My recent transplant from the I.E. to I.V. has inspired me to hop back on the blogging tip (no homo). So now I'm sitting at my work desk at four in the morning, talking to the drunk girls coming in, which is typical of any night of the week here in Isla Vista. Anyways..the topics of this blog are going vary from news, hip hop, our adventures in santa barbara, clothes, music, love, God, anything and everything.
